Prior to civil registration for Baltimore City in 1875, genealogical resources authenticating births are mostly limited to church baptismal registers. Alternative options are few and far between. This is one of the first, if not the only published index to medical records from 19th century physicians in Baltimore City. Not only does this book present an index to a previously unpublished primary source, but it also provides a fascinating glimpse into the risks of everyday life in a previous century.250 pages, 6x9, 2007, 6x9, paper, 250 pp, Softcover, Heritage Books, Inc View more info
