A factual and historical account of the life of John Willis Sr. (who died in what was then Richmond County, in 1715) and his known family, based on surviving documents. Much of the research was compiled from County Court orders and minutes; wills and estate administrations; deeds; land records; and original patents and grants. The author has updated most of the later documents, but the will of John Willis Sr. and some of his deeds were left in their original forms to give the reader a flavor of the old language.
