Dickson County, Tennessee Cemetery Records - Part I and II: Revised Edition Marjorie Hood Fischer Reg. Price: $55.5 (1967), 1991, 8½x11, paper, index, 2 vols., 465 pp, Heritage Books These two volumes, filled with data from backyard gravestones and forgotten family plots, as well as established cemeteries, are a genealogist’s dream find. Originally published in 1967 they include information from hundreds of cemeteries in Dickson County, Tennessee. The entries are arranged alphabetically and give directions to each site and a brief description of the burial ground. The locales may contain one grave, or several thousand, and because many graves were unmarked all extant newspapers for a period ending in 1930 were searched for obituaries of deceased persons to supplement the tombstone inscriptions. Between them, these volumes also contain a brief historical sketch of Dickson County, a list of Dickson County Obituaries from 1882 to 1923, 1850 and 1860 mortality schedules, family bible records, and lists of some Civil War and World War I & II mortalities. The data is presented in a straightforward, simple format that is easy to research or browse. All pertinent information on the stones is listed, questionable or confusing information is underscored, and markers bearing more than one name are noted with an asterisk. Both volumes are enhanced with an every name index to facilitate the search for family connections. F1987 Price:

Tennessee Tidbits, 1778-1914, Volume I Marjorie Hood Fischer Reg. Price: $45 (1986), 2007, 6x9 cloth, index, 544 pp, Heritage Books, Inc This work is an absolute gold mine for anyone who is researching the State of Tennessee. The compiler has gone to the Court Minutes to dig out all the gems of genealogical information. In many cases, this is the only record that exists to show birth dates, death, divorce, naturalization, and much more. Most of the court minutes have no index, or at best only a partial index, so it took a page-by-page reading to find this information. Included in Volume One are records from Blount, Davidson, Dickson, Fayette, Giles, Greene, Hardin, Haywood, Hickman, Humphreys, Lincoln, Putnam, Rutherford, Washington and Williamson counties. If you don’t have ancestors in these counties, this book can still help you. There are references to people in many other counties and in many states. They show relationships and migration paths. Future volumes are planned and will cover the entire state. F3274 Price:
