Price: $42 (1997), 2005, 5½x8½, paper, index, 528 pp, Heritage Books In 1681, William Penn was granted a charter by Charles II, giving him and his heirs a sparsely populated tract of land that would eventually become the state of Pennsylvania. Bucks County was created in 1682 as one of Pennsylvania's original three counties. Ten deed books are abstracted in this volume. A typical entry includes some or all of the following information: page number, date of transaction, name of grantor, occupation of the male grantor, place of residence of the grantor, name of grantee, occupation of male grantee, place of residence of grantee, sales price, area of land involved, location of land, neighbors, chain of deed, landmarks, signatures of grantors and witnesses, and the year that the deed was recorded. Frederick County, Virginia Minutes of Court Records, 1743-1745 John David Davis Reg. They inhabited the region that was to become Frederick Co., VA. The missionaries paved the way for those who moved into this region from MD and PA, many of whom were of Scottish, German and French descent. Originally part of Orange Co., Frederick Co. was formed in 1638, but its government was not officially organized until 1743. This work documents the minutes of court records during the first few years following the inception of the county government (1743-1745). A full name index covers both plaintiffs and defendants. West Jersey, New Jersey Deed Records, 1676-1721 John David Davis Reg. Price: $29 2005, 5½x8½, paper, index, 370 pp, Heritage Books Sir George Carteret was appointed New Jersey's first governor in August 1665, at the age of twenty-five. In July 1673, the Dutch reconquered New York and New Jersey and they remained until Britain regained the two colonies in November 1674. In March 1674, Sir George agreed to a partition of the province into East and West New Jersey. The diagonal boundary gave Sir George all the inhabited lands. The two "divisions" remained separate until 1702, when New Jersey became a royal province.
