This volume begins with the annals of the town, the history of the churches and religious societies and the topography of the area. The author then presents biographical sketches of Sir Benjamin Thompson, Thomas W. Thompson, Timothy Walker, Dr. Philip Carrigain, Rev. Israel Evans, Col. Thomas Stickney, Capt. Nathaniel Abbot, Capt. Joshua Abbot, John Bradley, Deacon John Kimball and Lt. Richard Herbert and finishes with the memoir of the Penacook Indians.
